Breakfast at the Raleigh Men's Shelter

Here, about 10 volunteers prepare hot breakfast at the shelter in Raleigh. Members donate supplies the day before while others volunteer to cook the food.

On average, 130 people benefit seeing enthusiastic and welcoming volunteers serving healthy breakfast once a month.

Dinner Service at Men's Shelter

Similar to the breakfast service and at the same location, volunteers prepare hot dinner at the shelter in Raleigh. Members donate supplies the day before while others volunteer to cook the food.

Drop-Off Dinner Service

Volunteers cook pasta and Mexican casserole. One volunteer drops off and picks up empty trays from men's shelter

Pillow Making Service

We make pillows for patients undergoing treatment at Rex Hospital. We need both volunteers with and without tailoring skills. Tailors bring their sewing machines and stich the pillow fabric, which are then filled by volunteers with stuffing.

Fresh Fruit Seva

Once a month, we deliver brown bags with fresh fruit to support Cumberland County Council of Older adults. Drop off fruits at/before 11 am.

SAI Tutoring Program

Volunteers provide weekly, evening, virtual one-on-one tutoring to underserved elementary school students from Durham and the surrounding areas. A complete tutoring curriculum is provided, including ELA, math, icebreakers, and character education materials. Contact saitutoringprogram@gmail.com

Pediatric Clinic Grocery Project

This weekly project involves purchasing dry and canned goods to fill three grocery bags that support families in need. These bags are distributed at the Lincoln Community Health Center Pediatric Clinic to any family reporting food insecurity.

Card making service

Center members make birthday or other uplifting hand-made cards, which are then distributed by members of our Senior Wing during their bi-monthly visits to a local nursing home. The seniors they play Bingo and spend time with the residents.
