1.  Dental Seva

Provide dental treatment (extractions, filling and consultation included) and cleaning.

Number of Recepients: 48

Number of Volunteers: 21

Raleigh Sai Center in collaboration with Pullen Memorial Baptist Church, Baptist state convention of North Carolina and Wakesmiles, Raleigh have hosted “Free Dental Day” for the last four years. This event was open for visitors starting at 8 am. The visitor stream typically starts around 7:30 am and concludes around 5 PM. This focussed event works on obtaning appointments with needy patients ahead of time working with other organizations to ensure full utilization of the dental facilities and Dentists. 2.  Medical Seva

Provide vision care including glasses, general physician access, STD, HIV screening, Mammograms, basic blood screening etc.

Number of Recepients: 150+

Number of Volunteers: 100

Raleigh Sai Center in collaboration with Pullen Memorial Baptist Church have hosted “Free Healthcare Day” for the last five years. This all day event was open for visitors starting at 8 am. The visitor stream typically starts around 7:00 am and concludes around 2 PM. The event is well publicized ahead of time and serves about 150+ visitors with various medical services. 3.  Beads Project

Chant 108 Gayathris for each bead and use about 18 beads and few décor beads and stitch a bracelet for cancer patients in Rex hospital

Number of Volunteers: 5

For about 5 years individuals from the Raleigh Sai Center chant 108 Gayathris for each bead and use about 18 beads and few décor beads and stitch a bracelet for cancer patients in Rex hospital. This seva is led by young adults with participation from all age groups.

4.  Battery Recycling

All small batteries will be collected at a year round location in the center and disposed in the county hazardous materials handling recycling facility.

Number of Volunteers: 3

Raleigh Sai Center in collaboration with HSNC began recycling small batteries by providing a recycling bin in high traffic areas in 2 facilities. The batteries are collected year round and disposed in the county hazardous materials handling recycling facility. So far more than 60 pounds of batteries were collected. Recently, this was expanded to recycling CFL’s.
